system suspend policy for wifi+wwan HKSs off
I wanted to create this issue in order to clarify what such a policy would be able to do or not - how it could look like - and to keep it simple, here only as part of one situation: wifi+wwan HKSs turned off. Offline, without even SMS/calls connectivity. In the hope that we learn more and can more easily think about the more complex situations talked about in #237
The reason is also that the currently remaining bugs we see in the kernel "only" affect connectivity, so this policy example could be implemented right now: I think HKSs off is a situation where the user won't notice any difference in operation but longer battery life if "automatic suspend after ($screen_blank_time + $t) minutes" is being set (by us?).
My Questions:
- Are we talking about something that silently overrides g-c-c settings?
- Are we talking about something that "loudly" overrides g-c-c settings (like: detect HKS state and change the g-c-c visible setting in that situation?)
- If one of the above: would we "tie suspend to" screen-blank time for both battery and charging states?
- Or would we need new settings in g-c-c like "sleep profiles" or so?
