mmsd: Message in MMS appears twice in chat list

When sending an MMS, the message appears twice in the chat list:

20210929_18h54m23s_grim

However, when Chatty is killed, the message disappears:

20210929_18h54m53s_grim

I suspect there is something going on in send_message_finish () where SMS does something that MMS is not doing, but I have not found it.
