Phone number is cut in the default portrait view

For me, one of the main use cases of the contacts up - aside of choosing a contact to call - is displaying the phone number of a stored contact. However, in the default view in portrait mode, Contacts fails to do so and forces me to enter either the edit mode or switch the screen to landscape orientation in order to show the phone number:
