Expand program listings and pull in all docs

This unbreaks the incusion of some docs that were previously ignored and therefore made the docs hard to read, it also expands the current examples.

/cc @bob.ham please have a look, if you don't get around to it, i'll merge tomorrow since it like to ship a new release.
