Missing icon in shell overview

Software doesn't have an app icon on its card in multitasking:

that is likely another incarnation of https://honk.sigxcpu.org/con/GTK__and_the_application_id.html

Some apps not using g_set_prgname() work fine, e.g. Contacts. I wonder if the issue is related to something else, like inconsistencies in the app ID.

Turns out I did what you suggested for Clocks and it's fixed.
