Cannot clone/build or Use LibHandy on Ubuntu 19.01
What problem did you encounter?
I tried to clone and build the libhandy repo on my machine but am unable to get any of the examples to work nor am I able to use the handy in python through visual studio code, the interpreter or otherwise
In what part of libhandy did you experience the problem? Note that multiple boxes may be checked.
-
build system -
documentation -
example application -
HdyArrows -
HdyColumn -
HdyDialer -
HdyLeaflet -
somewhere else (please elaborate)
What is the actual behaviour?
I get no namespace found errors. it appears that maybe I'm installing into /usr/local/ and Ubuntu isn't happy with that (per troubleshooting with afontain on our matrix server).
What is the expected behaviour?
that python would be able to see the handy so I could import it and use it to build something, or the the examples in the example dir would work.
How to reproduce?
cd; git clone https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/libhandy; cd libhandy; git checkout v0.0.11; (meson _build; echo ---; ninja -C _build; echo ---- sudo ninja -C _build install) >log.txt
Please provide steps to reproduce the issue. If it's a graphical issue please attach screenshot.
