This would really only become useful if u-boot, kernel, dtb and initrd were stored in the [hardware] boot partition.
I found this statement confusing, maybe it even hindered the merge of important, already implemented steps of this issue by introducing a mixed scope.
Mixing OS files into the hardware boot partitions does not sound like a useful idea on the Librem 5 to me. Because having OS files in the hardware partitions complicates OS installation, updates, backup, recovery, boot etc. by adding hardware partition dependencies to the OS and thus potential incompatibilities between different distros and even just different releases of the same distro etc.
Instead of mixing OS files into the hardware partitions, it seems preferable to do "A/B Bootloader&Recovery Updates (to hardware partitions)"
Please see the newer OS-issues#347. (And possibly close this issue in favor of that overhauled one.)
When running the flash procedure I get a librem 5 that has only 3.6G of total space for the emmc. Unless my emmc has degraded significantly this shouldn't happen.
Think so, thanks!
With !256 (merged) can you now close this?

Looks good to me. Should we make that a hard match or allow for 0.2.0 for some time?
@sebastian.krzyszkowiak could you create a matching tag as well in for https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/firmware-tps6598x-nonfree/-/tags ?
