I think every language will need it's own terminal layout, for example if you want to do a 'cd /home/user/Music/' in Spanish will be 'cd /home/user/Música/' and it will be impossible to reach without the especial characters.
For what a use the terminal in Android it's enough with arrows and 'Ctrl' keys I don't do any 'complicated' job without a physical keyboard.
It would be ideal if the keyboard somehow adapted by it's own the layout for each purpose.
As we discussed yesterday, here are some concepts for a super simple initial terminal layout:
Basically this is the same as the en-US layout with an extra button in the bottom left, which opens a page of terminal-specific keys. This layout would be included in the layout switcher (along with languages and emoji), but it should probably only be available in apps where it makes sense (i.e. terminal-like apps). Could we have the app request it somehow (and ideally also make it the default)?
I don't have a strong opinion whether to go with two full rows of F keys or to have esc/tab in their "natural" position, maybe let's just try one of them and see how it goes?
