Booting from USB
When booting from a USB device on my Purism Librem 15 and Purism Mini, when cold booting it works perfectly.
However, if I shutdown the machine and power it on within a few seconds, I see the Purism logo, it pauses for around 10 seconds, then the USB device is not detected.
- Insert the USB drive
- Turn on the laptop
- Once the logo appears hit ESC
- The USB device appears in the list of devices to boot from
- Boot from the USB or Hard Drive, it doesn't matter
- Shutdown the laptop normally
- Turn the laptop on within a few seconds
- Once the logo appears hit ESC
- Notice there will be a 10 second wait, where nothing happens
- Eventually the USB drive is not in the list of devices to boot from
It's always happened for me, for the last few years. But I just end up unplugging the laptop and counting to 15, then plugging it back in.
This also makes me wonder, when I shutdown the laptop, is it not actually shutting down?
Anyway, it'd be good to know if you can recreate this or if I'm just crazy.
