PureOS Crimson GR: Alpha test, clean flash only
Produce PureOS Crimson artifacts suitable for alpha testing by the community, clean flash or clean install only. (Merge Librem 11 Phosh image work, add support for building Librem 5 encrypted images.)
Resolve critical issues that would prevent meaningful testing of the image.
Resolve major dependency issues that may break installed systems if resolved later.
Complete when:
- Community members can alpha test PureOS Crimson on Librem 5 from clean flash and from PC devices from clean install (both with encryption).
- Essential functionality works, so common apps / usage patterns are testable (i.e. desktop works, audio works, networking, cellular, etc.)
- We have reasonable confidence that systems installed at this point will be upgradable to the general release with minimal breakage
- Other than Librem 11, this is not a firm guarantee, we could still require a reinstall/reflash if a major issue is found
- Librem 11 systems using the existing Phosh image must be updatable to the general release though since it is already shipping.
Providing an unencrypted image as well is a should-have goal. It's expected that if the encrypted image works, there should be no major blockers for an unencrypted image.
