[query] State of {{language}} packaging in Debian

I am an upstream project manager. I want to find out the state of packaging for language X, so that I can estimate how much effort it would take to get a tool written in that language into Debian.

Where can I find this information?

Examples

  • There are many Python packages already in Debian. So a Python library or application would be easily adopted. (We'd "just" need to make sure all dependencies are also packaged.)

  • There are a handful of Ruby packages already in Debian. So a Ruby application could be adopted, but there are likely to be many dependencies that need packaging.

  • The Dart language is not yet packaged in Debian. So it would take considerable effort to get to the point where a Dart library or application could be packaged.

What I've tried

If memory serves there are teams dedicated to particular languages. But if I try to follow https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Ruby (for example) I get 403 Forbidden. I've seen hints that only Debian developers can edit the wiki, but how can someone else read it?

A search for https://search.debian.org/?q=ruby returns mostly news items.
