opening pages into a new tab is difficult

Attempting to open a link into a new tab
What is the actual behaviour?
Sometimes works, sometimes does not
Clicking (and holding) a link opens a context menu, however as soon as you move your finger it disappears.
What is the expected behaviour?
When the context menu is opened, until you either select an option within the menu or a place outside the menu, it remains visible so that you can select what you would like to happen.

Please provide steps to reproduce the issue. If it's a graphical issue please attach screenshots.
Which version did you encounter the bug in?
Whatever came with the Evergreen phone (and current updates).
