SMS messages sometimes disappear, possibly related to system time changes(?)
I just lost a bunch of texts in my history, seemingly permanently, because system time bugged majorly to year 2155 and apparently something decided to somehow prune some things on the SIM card based on that. Might have been the SIM card itself and maybe that's reasonable, but the problem appears to be a lack of an on-device backup where surely there'd be enough space to keep everything without pruning.
Generally, I assume Chatty relies currently on SIM card storage only? For better resilience against such unfortunate events, I suggest that it should sync everything also onto the device such that Chatty shows 1. all messages on the SIM card, 2. additionally all messages that it has stored on-device that aren't also found on the SIM card already, to prevent history loss better in such events.
Turns out the texts are still there as you can see from the comments below, in Chatty's sqlite, but for some reason don't show anymore since the system time temporarily jumped into crazy realm. So there seems to be some unintended filtering
