mobile data does not work on Birch
For me the problems tracked in https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/ModemManager/issues/23 have not gone away since then (it only finds the cellular connection way faster, but that doesn't make mobile data work for me):
edit: TL;DR: a workaround solution is described in https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/ModemManager/issues/33#note_90698 below.
Using today's amber-phone staging. WIFI HKS off. After starting up:
purism@pureos:~$ sudo mmcli -m 0

the APN that is initially offered to select (stored on the SIM card?) doesn't work, but it also doesn't match the APN settings my carrier documents to set for Internet (APN Type "default" is probably something we have anyways). So I create and select it and tick mobile data on.
The behaviour is always the same though: A few seconds later, mm loses connection; and finds it again.
I don't get an IP address. The wwan0
interface stays down. ifconfig wwan0 up
doesn't help.
Does anyone have the same problem? My plan supports data, but I haven't verified it on a different phone yet.
