Metapackage for ldh_developer
User story: I am a Liberty developer running PureOS. I want my development tools to remain up-to-date (including adding new tools), so that I know I have everything I need.
Suggested solution: A metapackage in PureOS called ldh_developer_meta
that includes all the already-packaged dependencies of this project, such as ansible
, git
, python3
, virt-manager
.
Success:
The following "Install from source" instructions work on a fresh installation of PureOS:
sudo apt install ldh_developer_meta
git clone https://source.puri.sm/liberty/ldh_developer.git
cd ldh_developer
./bootstrap
Out of scope:
-
The
ldh_developer
project itself will never be packaged. If one of these tools mature to a packaging state, we'll create a separate project for it. This metapackage is just a convenience for Liberty developers. -
Adding dependencies beyond those listed above is outside the scope of this ticket. It would be ideal if the list of dependencies could be maintained in a project on source.puri.sm, so that the whole team could submit merge requests to the list.

Creating this metapackage upstream (in Debian) is not required. I don't think it would be suitable?
